If it hadn’t been for John Peel, a CUD band post 1987 would have been very unlikely, and certainly less heard of. Being invited to record our first session in 1987 was a surprise and honour, as is being invited to be part of the new 4-CD collection, Kats Karavan –The History of John Peel on the Radio.
As you’d expect from an artifact attempting to replicate something of the great man’s taste, the selection of bands is eclectic, and all the better for it. You won’t find some of the bigger names that Peel ‘discovered’. (The Smiths and Weddoes are noticeable for their absence) but it’s a wonderful souvenir of 40 years of inspired music. Seek it out.
